Canelo Álvarez vs Christian Mbilli

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli fight week runs 28 to 31 October, ending with fight night at The Venue in Riyadh. The undercard changed this week: Rafael Espinoza now defends the WBO featherweight title against Ricardo Blandon after Lorenzo Parra was ruled out on medical grounds. Tickets start from 50 SAR on WeBook; DAZN carries the card on pay-per-view.

The fight week schedule

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, published the fight-week schedule on 20 October. Each event starts at 9:00 PM Riyadh time, and the graphic carried The Ring, Riyadh Season and DAZN branding, which DAZN reposted. This independent guide to Riyadh Season will update the card below if anything else changes.

Parra out, Blandon in on the undercard

Lorenzo Parra is out of the WBO featherweight title fight. The Middle East Professional Boxing Commission declined to authorize him on medical-exam grounds, and WBO president Gustavo Olivieri confirmed that WBO No. 15 Ricardo Blandon steps in to face champion Rafael Espinoza on 31 October. The change was reported by BoxingScene on 23 October.

The rest of the announced card

Alalshikh announced three title fights for the undercard on 8 October. Jaime Munguia defends the WBA super-middleweight title against Nikita Zon, and Lindolfo Delgado meets Arthur Biyarslanov for the vacant IBF super-lightweight title. Above them, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 knockouts) challenges Christian Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 knockouts) for the WBC super-middleweight title. It is Canelo’s first fight since his unanimous-decision loss to Terence Crawford in September 2025, and Mbilli’s first defense as full champion after Crawford vacated the belt.

Is the fight still on?

Yes. No date or venue change has been announced. On 11 October Alalshikh posted that Canelo told him he would still fight in Riyadh “no matter what happens,” and WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has said he expects to travel at the end of the month. The Future Investment Initiative moved its 2026 edition to 2027, but this fight has not moved.

Tickets and how to watch

WeBook is the official ticket channel, with tickets from 50 SAR. Entry is by mobile ticket, so download it before you travel and charge your phone. The cheapest tiers on big Riyadh fight nights clear first and prices climb through fight week rather than falling, so booking early usually beats waiting. DAZN carries the card on pay-per-view; confirm the start time on the DAZN listing for your own timezone, because Riyadh main events walk late in local time.

Getting to The Venue

The Venue sits in the Boulevard City district in Hittin, northern Riyadh. On a big fight night the approach roads jam and parking near the gates fills hours before the first bout, so the Riyadh Metro plus a short taxi or event shuttle is the route that holds up. Leaving is slower than arriving, so agree a pickup point before you go in. Our full Canelo vs Mbilli fight guide has the tale of the tape and ticket tiers, and the Riyadh Season 2026 hub covers the rest of the season calendar, including WWE Crown Jewel on 7 November.
